Requirements:
1) Directly address the topic by way of a clearly identifiable central argument in the Introduction.
2) Argument should remain consistent throughout the essay and be substantiated by strong evidence, examples, and reasoned analysis.
3) Show an understanding of the key literature relevant to the chosen assignment question, and an ability to critically engage with existing or potential counter-arguments to your argument. Do not spend too much time on describing what has happened or what it is (such background information should be kept very brief), but rather focus on demonstrating why your argument is correct and why other arguments are not convincing.
4) The essay should be well-structured with clearly-identifiable sections (especially Introduction, Conclusion). The Conclusion in particular should summarise your main argument. Additionally, there should be clearly transition sentences between paragraphs to assist the flow of your argument/analysis.
4) Use up-to-date and relevant sources (particularly academic sources), and include a bibliography (or references) at the end of the essay. You must provide references where you have cited or used ideas of other authors.
5) Proofread your essay before submission to minimise typos, punctuation and grammatical errors.
